Building construction and spectacular interior design. Astoria's escaped limestone lends a Mediterranean and rustic feel to spaces clad with this decorative natural stone. The beauty and simplicity of this material will give your home a unique look, and is the best solution for vertical cladding such as fences, facades or plinths. It stands out for its raw beauty obtained by scaping - the process of chipping the faces of the stone slabs by hitting their edges with a hammer-like device. Limestone Astoria scapitata with dimensions 7 x 30 and thickness 1.5 cm, can also be used for vertical tiles in interiors - hallway, kitchen, living room, fireplace cladding. Its shades of cream that cover the limestone will adapt to any style you approach in your projects.
Benefits of Astoria decorative stone:
1. Gives a Mediterranean and rustic look
2. For indoor vertical cladding
3. Fits any interior design style
What you need to know about installation:
It is as important as the choice of stone
For fixing the tiles we recommend using Weber Set Marmo Plus adhesive, a flexible, quick-setting adhesive that is also suitable for outdoor use;
For outdoor vertical tiles we recommend the use of Weber GR 100 primer together with the adhesive, in this way the installation will be more resistant.
The surface must be 100% covered with adhesive for a very good fixing.
The support layer on which the limestone is mounted can be made of: Concrete / Thermosystem / Gypsum
If the installation is done up to 3 m high, the product can be clad directly over the thermosistem
If the installation is more than 3 m high, it is mandatory to use "Buzau" mesh and several dowels to fix the thermosystem.
If the installation is to be done over the plasterboard, it is mandatory to use a rabbet net.
Weber Color Comfort grout will be applied after fixing the tiles to enhance the natural stone; you can choose from 30 shades.
For a correct installation, we recommend you to call on the services of a specialist.
How do we care for stone?
Limestone has a great resistance over time, but to enjoy it more we take into account 3 steps: cleaning, waterproofing and maintenance Even if it is installed outside, limestone is cleaned after installation and before being waterproofed with LTP Grimex
We recommend waterproofing the surface with LTP Mattstone; if you want to intensify the colour of the stone without making it look wet you can use LTP Colour Intensifier.
This process causes the micropores of the stone to close and does not allow water to penetrate the material, and the stone will not stain so easily.
LTP Waxwash can be used for cleaning and maintenance of the stone after installation, which keeps the stone waterproof.
If you are confronted with more difficult stains use LTP Power Stripper and for rust stains use LTP Grout Stain Remover.
