In order to ensure a correct delivery in accordance with the legislation in force in the European Union, please read carefully the methodology / information below.

Orders with non-EU destination do NOT include VAT; The VAT is paid directly to the customs by you, at the customs point you indicate to us (destination point).
Customs point
You must inform the assigned seller from PIATRAONLINE about the destination customs point (example: customs in Dover, UK) where import formalities are requested at the destination and we then send this information to the Romanian customs (we also pass this information on the final invoice ).
We will inform the shipping company (carrier) that it is mandatory to perform customs at the point of destination (point of entry into the country or point of destination, depending on the customs point indicated by you, as our customer).
You must pay the taxes at the stable and past customs point in Invoice and if somehow the carrier is accidentally at another customs point in the destination country, please DO NOT accept the order and contact us at +44 or email export@piatraonline.com which we mentioned above.
Important: After you have received the receipt of your goods / order, please send us the documents proving that you have paid the taxes and the delivery has been completed successfully.

For an updated delivery status, you can reach out to your PIATRAONLINE’s sales consultant. This information is also available from PIATRAONLINE Logistic Department, yet not before being notified by us of the delivery dispatchment.
Reception of goods
Make sure you stay home when your delivery is scheduled, or that you have designated somebody familiar with the order that will take of this for you. As soon as you proceed with the reception of goods, you have to make sure that the products delivered aren’t damaged, everything is according to the invoice, and that they are the same products specified in the delivery order. If you find any error, we will take care of the issue as soon as possible.
Unloading the goods
For a smooth delivery process, make sure you consider all the aspects detailed below:
• If you live in a downtown area, there might be restrictions for heavy trucks. As such, please let us know, because there might be a delivery authorization fee, charged by the local authorities. We can also offer you a delivery option with light trucks, exempted from any fees, if we agree that it is more cost effective this way (whenever possible).
• Therefore, if your delivery area is restricted to heavy trucks, please let us know! As we already mentioned, we should have enough time for contracting light trucks for delivery, however, keep in mind that this may involve higher delivery costs
• Keep in mind that your delivery person is a driver and he will not help to unload the goods, under any circumstances. As such, it is necessary to make sure that you have contacted an unloading crew for this job.
• Keep in mind that delivery trucks are not provided with hydraulic ramp for loading and unloading your order, nor pallet jack.
Handling and storage of goods
• Panels and special cut-to-size pieces are always lifted from the edge, to avoid cracking. You need to store your natural stone by the same method used for delivery: in crates or pallets, with tiles being placed side by side, vertically, not on top of each other, on horizontal level
• If you unload the goods by hand, pay extra attention and always keep in mind that natural stone is extremely durable when installed, yet brittle when handled
• You will notice that we have adopted strict measures to avoid tile breaking during transport: some tiles have a safety net on the back, panels or mosaics are packed in boxes, some goods are packed in crates and some tiles are even separated by different methods, for increased safety
• Natural stone must be stored properly (in crates, pallets etc.) and of course, everything that is packed in crates must be stored indoors or in covered terraces, for avoiding any damages
Make sure the crew responsible for installing your natural stone is informed of all these aspects!
Delayed deliveries
Sometimes, exceptional situations can occur, that are beyond our control (political crises affecting international transport and as consequence the relationship with our suppliers, situations resulted from the schedule of our logistic partners, which are not possible to be predicted, extreme situations due to weather conditions, restricted access to delivery address etc.) and for any of these situations, we will quickly notify you of any delay.
We advise you to schedule the installation crew only for unloading the goods and to select a different time period for installation, to avoid unpleasant situations caused by delayed deliveries.
