Computer Numerical Control or simply CNC machine is the automated control of machining tools by means of a computer operating on a piece of material: interior and exterior cutting, shaping, trimming, finishing and engraving. A typical CNC system performs multi-tasking operations, scheduled from the main computer. There are two types of motors: stepper or servo for controlling the processing tools, which ultimately leads to cutting, drilling, milling and engraving operations. The switch between these operations is scheduled automatically and tools are water cooled during processing.
Water jet cutting machines are programmed by CNC and use pressure water for cutting (over 3 t / sqcm), with or without abrasive elements.
